Iran Watch:
FOOD FOR THOUGHT... and first, my apologies to the folks at Blog Iran! for my recent hiatus during which I mostly emptied Kleenex boxes and sponged blood out of my sink...

Mehdi Mozaffari draws an interesting comparison between the Islamic faith and Islamism, and warns both against the West deciding that it is waging a "war against Islam" and complacent Muslims who continue to allow their faith to be co-opted by Islamists. Excellent reading—and I hope it will be read by more Muslims than non-Muslims. Of course, with the political systems in place now through almost all of the Islamic world, that is highly unlikely.

OH BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU?

I know these things about Sam Muldia:

He's Estonian;

He speaks (and writes) better English than most Americans;

He runs one of the best blogs out there;

His younger brother Daniel, also a brilliant blogger, is better known to our readers as Dr. DNA (the Voodoo Lounge guy);

Sam has a girlfriend named Tara, from the wilds of Canada;

Tara arrived in Tallinn a couple months ago for her long-awaited reunion with Sam;

Unigolyn has all but dried up and blown away since then.

Hmmm. Coincidence—or conspiracy???

FUN LONG WEEKEND. The only fun I had was attending the girlfriend's family gathering in Darlington on Saturday. After that? Let's see... caught some kinda flu bug on Sunday, started feeling somewhat better on Tuesday—and got bitten by a neighbor's dog on Tuesday night (nailed me in both hands, the buggerin' bastard). So I have lost my sense of humor, I'm afraid. Und you know what happens when Alois loses his sense of humor...
